About Seton Melvin

Seton Melvin serves as the director of the Brain Donor Program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. In this leadership role, she guides a program committed to the clinical study of brains that have sustained documented injuries. The program directed by Seton Melvin holds the distinction of being the first of its kind in the United States.

Ms. Melvin has a long history of supporting organizations that work to improve the public good. Currently, she serves as a director of both the Whitney Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Active in the arts, she was previously the director of the Guggenheim Museum’s Young Collectors Council.

Seton Melvin’s charitable activities extend outside of New York City to Massachusetts, where she has supported the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Williams College Museum of Arts. A graduate of Williams College, she earned a BA in economics and political science before beginning her career.
